We are looking for an Associate Product Manager to join our Product Team responsible for Payroll systems, specifically Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll and Unipay. These platforms are critical to ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a large and diverse workforce.
This role sits at the intersection of product, operations, and payroll domain expertise. You will support the ongoing evolution, stability, and continuous improvement of our payroll products ensuring compliance, accuracy, and a seamless colleague experience.
You will work closely with Payroll, HR, Technology, and external vendors to enhance system capabilities, resolve issues, and deliver value-driven improvements.
With over 250,000 colleagues in various roles from Head Office, Retail and Distribution in UK & approx. 30,000 colleagues in Republic of Ireland, there will be many challenges in this fast paced environment to overcome, with plenty of opportunities to improve processes and design payroll solutions that handle any situation and pay all our colleagues on time with the highest level of accuracy.

- Create, maintain, and improve payroll-related documentation, including user guides, process documentation, and support materials
- Support complex payroll queries and Tier 2/3 incidents, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis
- Manage defects and system issues across Oracle HCM and Unipay—from identification through to resolution and release
- Collaborate with Engineering and QA teams to ensure high-quality, defect-free releases
- Support impact assessments and validation of Oracle HCM quarterly updates and Unipay releases.
- Capture and refine business requirements, translating them into Epics, Features, and User Stories in Jira
- Drive continuous improvement by working with stakeholders across Payroll, HR, and Finance
- Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring business readiness before deployment
- Deliver training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops to drive product adoption and effective usage
- Foundational experience or exposure to Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll (or similar HR/payroll systems)
- Awareness of payroll processes and controls, with an eagerness to build deeper domain knowledge
- Basic understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and how digital products are delivered
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail when handling payroll data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, validation, and reconciliation
- Exposure to Unipay or other on-prem payroll systems
- Familiarity with Agile ways of working (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and tools like Jira
- Experience supporting testing activities (UAT) or defect triaging
- Understanding of HR, payroll, or finance operations in a corporate environment
