In this role as the Data Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the consistency, accuracy, and reliability of data across the organisation. You'll have extensive experience in data management, a strong understanding of data standardisation principles, and a passion for improving data quality.

- Develop Data Standards: Create and implement data standardisation policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy of people-related data across the organisation.
- Data Governance: Establish and maintain data governance frameworks to support data standardisation initiatives for People data.
- Data Quality Assurance: Monitor and assess the quality of people data, identifying and addressing data inconsistencies and inaccuracies.
- Data Mapping: Conduct data mapping from all entities to ensure that data standards are consistently applied across the organization.
- Data Standardisation: Ensuring consistent representation of data elements, establishing clear naming conventions, and standardising units of measurement to improve documentation, understanding, and accuracy.
- Data Encoding: Ensuring consistent character encoding and character sets, especially for international or multilingual data.
- Categorisation and Taxonomies: Creating standardised categories and taxonomies for data classification to improve consistency and facilitate data retrieval.
- Data Schemas and Structures: Defining how data is organised and stored, including specifying tables, fields, relationships, and data hierarchy.
- Validation Rules: Establishing rules and constraints to ensure data adheres to predefined standards.
- Documentation: Documenting data standards, definitions, and metadata to ensure users understand how data is structured and what it represents.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information and adhere to data protection regulations.
- Proven experience in data management and standardisation - Within a People/HR environment would be ideal
- Expertise in Data Standards and Management: In-depth understanding of various data standards (technical, business, and domain-specific) and strong knowledge of data management principles, including data standardisation, governance, and mapping.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify data inconsistencies.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to present data standardisation policies and procedures clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and use your own initiative.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in data management tools and software.
- Experience with SQL and data integration tools is a plus.
