About the role

As an Insight Analyst, you’ll be responsible for delivering actionable insights across The Café and The Coffee Shop business. You’ll be the key point of contact for regular reporting and evaluation, supporting everything from menu campaigns to operational trials. Alongside this, you’ll proactively identify opportunities to enhance trade, improve customer experience, and drive efficiencies within the business.

You’ll collaborate closely with Tesco Hospitality operational teams and central functions, reporting to the Insight, Proposition and Design Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who’s curious about the story behind the data and passionate about hospitality.

You will be responsible for
  • Interpreting and simplifying complex data, presenting insights and recommendations clearly and in a way that resonates with different audiences.
  • Producing weekly and periodic reports to help the business understand performance across core operations and trials.
  • Using data to analyse customer profiles and behaviours, including segmentation.
  • Contributing to the planning of menu and promotional campaigns.
  • Monitoring the performance of campaigns and trials, providing clear evaluations for senior stakeholders.
  • Building strong relationships between external partners (e.g., KPMG, Dunnhumby) and internal teams (e.g., Insight, Clubcard, Finance).
  • Managing the KPMG customer feedback survey, ensuring questions remain relevant and tools are in place to capture feedback effectively.
  • Supporting colleagues at all levels to understand customer sentiment through key measures.
  • Ensuring feedback scores and comments from KPMG are accurately represented and acted upon within Operations and Central Teams.
You will need
  • A data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to turn data into meaningful insights and clear recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to bring insights to life and influence action.
  • Strong prioritisation, collaboration, and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach to learning, with curiosity to explore new ways of understanding data and improving efficiencies.
  • Confidence in taking ownership of tasks and projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in an Analyst or Insight role.
  • Knowledge of databases and confidence using SQL, TAP, and Alation systems to retrieve sales and product data.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
