About the role
Lead will be accountable to support the business in making informed decisions by producing tools and data which will enable the distribution teams with operational activities related to inbound services like transport, driver, route and fleet planning. Overseeing processes to guarantee the output is checked and accurate. Building capabilty within the team to meet evolving business requirements by learning and training new tools and technology.

You will be responsible for
- Understands business needs and in depth understanding of Tesco Distribution processes
- Driving and implementing CI Projects and innovation for their team, bearing first-line supervisory responsibilities, including process coaching, on-the-job training, and efficient coordination and communication to ensure team success.
- Builds on Tesco processes and knowledge internally and in the market by learning new technology and training the team
-Ensuring appropriate work allocation across team members, optimizing team utilization, contributing to enhanced process documentation, and actively engaging with stakeholders at every level.
- Extracting and transforming daily/weekly data to inbound distribution planners to plan and ensure smooth operations 
- Setting Quality check in place for validating the output to ensure consistency and highlighting any potential issues
- Responsible for checking and validating supplier performance to help drive improvement in line with the business goals and objective
- Performing adhoc research and analysis to diagnose recent performance and operational issues to UK LST
- Balancing and prioritising work across short-term projects and long-term initiatives
- Staying up-to-date on relevant industry regulations, competitor news and share best practices
- Collaborating with teams across the wider business, including Supply Chain and other fulfilment specialists, to identify current/potential opportunities and develop the right solutions for our customers and our business
-Ensure RCA documents are built and maintained for past errors and pro-active thinking to mitigate future errors
-Responsible for completing tasks and projetcs within agreed KPI's 
- Solves problems by suggesting solution alternatives

You will need
-Relevant years of working experience in the field of Distribution, Supply Chain or Fulfilment Operations
-Functional experience (Preferred)
-Team and Project Management - Skilled
-Coaching and Mentoring - Basic
- We need someone who is willing to learn about how and why we do our processes. Previous experience in (SQL, VBA, Hive, Python Tableu and Alteryx) basic would be an advantage but a willingness to learn is very important.
- Excellent problem solving skills translating complex issues into clear and actionable frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication, ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
