About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Talent and Capability Practice of Expertise (POE). 

In this role you will support the design and delivery of a group wide leadership and talent development strategy for Tesco, that equips leaders with the right skills, behaviours and values to deliver our strategic priorities and lead an inclusive and high performing culture. 

With significant experience in end to end leadership and talent development for senior leaders and talent pools, alongside experience of creating and implementing aligned and meaningful development strategies that enhance Tesco culture and how it is role-modelled, you'll be a thought leader in this area and be able to balance a more strategic perspective with delivery of future fit solutions. 

You'll need proven senior and Exec level stakeholder management experience and will be able to influence and drive engagement and agreement for group wide programmes of work.

  • Annual bonus scheme of up to 20% of base salary

You will be responsible for
  • Contribute to leadership, talent, and culture strategy to build strong leadership pipelines.
  • Deliver innovative leadership development that fosters an inclusive, high-performing culture.
  • Build future leadership capabilities, skills, and values through high-quality learning offers.
  • Address development needs for high-potential talent and broader talent strategy themes.
  • Conduct learning needs analysis using external insights to shape best-in-class interventions.
  • Align leadership development with Tesco’s core learning and long-term capability strategy.
  • Embed inclusion by aligning leadership and culture plans with the DE&I strategy.
  • Partner with talent teams to build a talent development blueprint and address key themes.
  • Develop and manage the end-to-end talent development process with robust tracking.
  • Align with other POE teams to support strategic priorities across development programmes.
  • Manage the executive coaching offer, ensuring diverse, high-quality coaching support.
  • Use data to inform leadership development priorities and contribute to capability planning.
  • Lead the director learning curriculum, ensuring content is current and strategically aligned.
You will need

Operational skills relevant for this job:

  • Apply cultural and behavioural change theories to design impactful interventions for senior leaders.
  • Create innovative, blended learning experiences using external partnerships and latest thinking.
  • Facilitate and present confidently at senior and executive levels, influencing key decisions.
  • Integrate DE&I into leadership and culture work, backed by strong consulting and analysis skills.
  • Collaborate across teams, embrace change, and balance strategic vision with practical delivery.

Experience relevant for this job:

  • Set group-wide strategies and gain exec-level buy-in for cultural and behavioural change.
  • Design and deliver innovative, inclusive learning across formats, informed by latest trends.
  • Build strong external networks and leverage thought leadership in leadership development.
  • Manage senior stakeholder relationships and influence across international teams.
  • Connect learning to broader business context with commercial acumen and strategic foresight.
