About the role

As a Strategy Manager I translate the strategy into action, implementing relevant plans brilliantly. I typically lead and / or support projects, or I am a subject matter expert. In this role I am responsible for the overall Online strategy and delivering a number of strategic projects to help Online meet it's 'North Star' ambition.

You will be responsible for
  • Managing and supporting projects to define new strategic propositions for Tesco Online based on customer needs, market trends and opportunities to increase sales & profit growth.
  • Delivering and optimising proposition projects; including customer management, programme management and financial performance to deliver against the long-term and annual business plans.
  • Interrogating internal and external data to identify trends and business opportunities.
  • Undertaking market analysis to understand standard methodology and translating into Tesco context.
  • Financial modelling to assess size of prize of opportunities and long term growth prospects.
  • Evaluating potential return on investment of strategic propositions against agreed metrics to support prioritisation in business and technology plans.
  • Collaborating effectively with a number of teams including Finance, Fulfilment, Customer, Technology, Commercial and other Online Development teams.


You will need
  • Understanding of Online business models and economics 
  • Strong strategy and proposition development as well as analytical skills 
  • Ability to bridge between critical thinking and pragmatic implementation 
  • Strong project and customer leadership skills 
  • Good commercial savvy and understanding 
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills 
  • Advanced analytical skills
