As a Product Manager, you are accountable for developing Analytics and AI Products for internal finance colleagues, ensuring effective self-serve capabilities through modern analytics platforms and contributing to data-driven financial decision-making across the broader Tesco business.
- Formulate the vision, strategy and roadmap for building finance analytics and AI capabilities, and work with others in aligning the strategic priorities, dependencies and roadmap across the finance data product portfolio.
- Plan and coordinate Analytics Products that have dependencies on multiple product, engineering, and finance teams.
- Lead discovery work around a minimum viable product (MVP) for any new Finance Analytics or AI Products, collaborating with finance users, analysts and engineering teams to prototype and validate a MVP.
- Champion user experience by conducting user research with finance colleagues to understand their workflows, pain points, and analytics needs.
- Ensure data quality and integrity by working with the data engineering and finance operations teams.
- Help the team in breaking down a sophisticated piece of work/epic into smaller, deliverable chunks of value that can be delivered faster.
- Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional team(s) on short-term tasks/near-term priorities.
- Empower finance teams across Tesco to use self-serve Analytics environments to get the most of performance reviews and business insights.
- Strong focus on user-centered design with ability to conduct user research and translate user needs into intuitive product experiences for finance colleagues.
- Hands-on proficiency with Tableau for data visualization and experience with modern data platforms such as Dremio or equivalent.
- Knowledge of data transformation tools such as Alteryx or equivalent ETL platforms.
- Understands engineering and infrastructure best practices and practicalities to help resolve delivery challenges.
- Knowledge of modern data architectures including cloud platforms, SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Expertise in using Tools & Techniques for Backlog prioritisation, managing dependencies and gaining insights using available data points.
- Experience crafting outputs for both technical and non-technical audiences, including finance leadership.
- Ownership, responsiveness and dedication towards assigned work.
- Strong decision making and prioritization skills, especially when multiple trade-offs are involved and faster decisions are required.
