As Systems Engineer, you will have strong focus on maintaining and supporting live production environments. You will be working in incident management, from real-time troubleshooting and root cause analysis to stakeholder communication and post-incident reviews. They are proactive in automation initiatives (e.g., OS patching) and open to cross-functional learning, particularly in logistics-related domains such as Fulfilment, Distribution, and Transport services. Works as a key member of an engineering team and delivers high quality solutions in a timely manner. Your role includes delivering technology across all markets that Tesco operates in – UK, Ireland, Czech, Slovakia and Hungary.

This job requires to be based in/close to Prague. We currently work in a hybrid model and meet in our office 3 days a week.
In this job I’m accountable for :
- Supporting live environment and Applications
- Effectively manage major incidents, ensuring stakeholders are updated with the right information to drive the correct decisions
- Can troubleshoot failures, determine root causes, and make any escalations as appropriate.
- Contributing to post incident analysis
- Open for Cross-functional training on domain specifics about Fulfilment/Distribution/Transport services
- Building and maintaining infrastructure in on-premises VMware data centres as well as in Azure
- Automation (Linux OS patching etc.)
- Being On-call support 7x24 - 1 week / month -extra compensation

Experience relevant for this job
- Systems Admin knowledge (Linux, Windows)
- SQL (Postgres, Oracle), writing/understanding complex SQL sentences.
- Bash/ksh, Pyton scripting skills
- Automate Recovery, testing of new patches
- On-premise (VMware, Hyper-V), Public Cloud (Azure) infrastructure,
- Understand the concept of containerization and their benefits,
- CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Monitoring and other tools such as: Splunk, New Relic, Jira, Confluence
