Safety Compliance Manager - Distribution

As the Safety Compliance Manager for Distribution, you will lead all aspects of the Distribution Safety Management System, ensuring all safety documentation and processes are current and aligned with Tesco standards and UK legislation. You will work closely with external consultants and internal teams to uphold safety standards and drive engagement across distribution operations.

• Safety Documentation Management - Maintain and regularly update all safety-related documentation including safety policies, guidance documents, risk assessments, safe systems of work, and the risk register to ensure compliance with Tesco standards and UK legislation
• External Assessments Coordination - Act as the primary partner for coordinating and managing external safety assessments such as Fire Risk Assessments, COMAH compliance, and Pristine Condition reviews, ensuring timely execution and follow-up actions
• Training Content Alignment - Collaborate with Tesco's training teams to ensure all safety training materials reflect the latest operational controls, legislative updates, and protocols
• Audit Ownership - Own and continuously improve the Safe and Legal Audit question set for Distribution, ensuring it effectively evaluates critical safety controls and site compliance
• Governance Leadership - Lead the governance framework for Distribution safety, including facilitating, forums, Health & Safety Matters communications, and director-level updates to ensure engagement and accountability at all levels
• ISO45001 Accreditation Management - Manage and maintain the BSI ISO45001 accreditation for Distribution, including scheduling site visits, leading Tesco's main assessments, and supporting the resolution of any non-conformities
• Operational Assurance - Conduct assurance visits to distribution sites, assessing adherence to safety controls and reporting findings to senior leadership to drive continuous improvement

• NEBOSH General Certificate (Required) 
• Understanding of Risk assessment and Risk management including the writing of documents 
• Writing policies and maintaining a Safety Management System 
• Practical knowledge of working within Distribution Centres
