About the role
Subject Matter Expert to develop & maintain mechanical engineering standards such as HVAC, Refrigeration and other Mechanical equipment & design along with Group engineering standards. Accountable for value-engineer projects and ensure the outputs adhere to Tesco standards, meet quality expectations and delivers on project KPIs.

You will be responsible for
- Driving and implementing Continuous Improvement Projects and innovation for their teams
- Support on Design & deliver the high value projects in consultation with TBS & UK Engineering Managers.
- Staying current with the industry standards including new technology, innovation, and energy efficient techniques.
- Work with UK and TBS Engineering managers to support on developing the engineering design guidelines, templates, WGLLs documents & examples, ways of working etc. and to implement Tesco specific design.
- Develop & maintain engineering standards and specification basis the steer provided by Group-engineering.
- Explore opportunities for improving standards & cost savings by sharing best practices across different Tesco markets, benchmarking against industry standards, innovating & collaborating with other functions, consultants & vendors.
-Value-engineer projects/ design to provide the best value.
Work with team to manage & update databases, track changes to standards, identify trends and patterns and benchmark info for use in future assignments and reporting.
-Provide design calculations, sizing & location info, reports, engineering feasibility solutions etc. for bespoke projects as may be applicable to convey the design intent.
- Support to validate if the shell/ engineering design produced at TBS are in line with Tesco standards, set ways of working, design guidelines etc. and meet project KPIs
-Support internal teams & external contractors/ vendors to clarify all doubts/ concerns regarding the design, drawings, specifications, supplier info etc.
-Support trials, providing data and operational information.
-Cultivate & maintain long-term, collaborative relationship with key stakeholders, consultants and selected vendor organizations to drive mutually aligned goals.
You will need
Graduate in Engineering with specialism in mechanical or refrigeration with sound construction/ Installation experience.
