About the role

Retail Media - Supply Team are part of the Tesco UK Retail Media (TUKRM) organisation. TUKRM are on a mission to be the ‘Ultimate Media Partner’ for CPGs, Brands and Agencies across the Tesco Group ecosystem. Retail Media - Supply team are responsible for developing new ad products, optimising existing ad products and to maintain a robust ecosystem of AdTech and Data platforms.

You will be responsible for

As a Senior Product Manager - APIs you will be technically minded and work with development teams across multiple Tesco Group companies and external parties.

he key part of this role is to build and execute AdTech product strategy for TUKRM that matches the overall Supply Product strategy and business objectives. This is a really exciting time to join the team as you will lead the AdTech transformation and mobilisation to a single external AdServer.

Main Responsibilities


The role of the Senior Product Manager is a varied and diverse one: spanning Product, People and Process.

Working with closely (and reporting to) the Head of Product, this role will encompass.

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role’s key responsibilities and measures:


  • A master practitioner of Product Management, you will coordinate, own, and prioritise development whilst dealing with tactical short-term requirements on a legacy technology stack

  • Agree and execute AdTech capabilities through the right integration methodolgies between Tesco Supply Media API and external ad-server.

  • Agree and execute the right integration between digital Media products and the Tesco Retail Media platforms

  • Drive alignment, and harmonisation, across internal, Tesco Retail Platform and external API domains

  • Leading on development plans: shaping the overall strategy, defining, and prioritising business requirements and working with the different business units to ensure value is delivered

  • Work with other Product Managers, architects, and the development team to deliver the roadmap using agile methodologies: prioritising requirements, answering development questions, and resolving issues, always putting the customer first.

  • Be a key ‘go-to’ resource for matters relating to Media API domain, and articulation of how they are used throughout the company. Engage key stakeholders across Retail Media, Tesco and External parties to define the right AdTech strategy and roadmap.

  • Deputise for Head of Product upon occasion/ as needed.


You will need

Experience relevant for this job

  • Domain: An expert in Media domain with a minimum of 5 years experience in developing and delivering AdTech products.

  • People:
    Be able to work collaboratively towards a strategic goal

  • Driving ongoing momentum, against the strategy: have taken multiple ideas from conception to go-live, through standard software product development lifecycle and got measurable success across defined KPIs or OKRs

  • Good domain expertise in the relevant functional area/ a large complex domain: such as enterprise architecture, APIs, backend.

  • Stakeholder: Efficient in senior (C Suite) stakeholder management and has ability to steer the team in the right direction

  • A ‘passion for product’ and Product Management Excellence: Knowledge and experience of product management best practice and methodologies; coupled with a strong technical acumen.

  • At ease with the tech stuff: technically competent to influence and understand the solution context and approach; and aid engineering in estimating the complexity of work being requested.

  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, constantly evolving business and tech environment.

  • Able to prioritise and trade off effectively:
    -Have great prioritization and decision making skills and have made good decisions/ judgements around business priorities and resource allocation, etc
    -Desirable: Knowledge and experience of the paradigms and trade-offs surrounding software architectures and software technical design choices.
