About the role
As a Systems Engineer II you are in a mid-level Individual Contributor role at Tesco. Engineers at SE2 level will continue their career development
and show potential for an SE3 role. SE2 is a stepping stone towards SE3, rather than a career destination in its own right.
At this level, your impact reaches across a team, and you provide technical leadership for medium to large features. You are starting to produce
your own work by understanding the problems that the team faces and are beginning to support other engineers with their own delivery and
development. You prioritise sharing your skills and knowledge. You also prioritise quality of work, helping your team to continually set the
standard. You understand and apply best practice within Tesco and across the industry.

My impact spans across the team I work with, where I consistently contribute to the design and delivery of medium to large-scale technical
solutions. I take full ownership of end-to-end implementation—from validating requirements to building, unit testing, deploying and support and
maintenance. Recognized as a subject matter expert in specific areas, I’m beginning to influence the direction of our work by proactively
identifying dependencies and risks, mitigating them effectively, and ensuring relevant stakeholders are informed and aligned.
I maintain a strong understanding of the features we implement and how they align with the broader product roadmap. I’m comfortable leading
major initiatives and supporting peers in their delivery, demonstrating a high level of ownership while knowing when to seek support.
At this stage, I’ve also begun to support and mentor others. I assist new engineers during onboarding and draw on my experience to help them
ramp up efficiently. While I may not hold a formal mentorship title, I’m a trusted point of contact for guidance and support across the team. I
actively share knowledge and help raise the technical bar through thoughtful reviews, constructive feedback, and by modelling best practices in
both code and system design.
I stay aligned with industry best practices and Tesco’s systems engineering standards, ensuring they are consistently reflected in my work. I
communicate technical concepts clearly and confidently, tailoring my message to suit both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You will need
Experience relevant for this job (above 6 years):
Successfully had impact on teams. Demonstrated experience designing, configuring, developing and running highly scalable distributed systems. Stakeholder management. Experience of technical and domain knowledge within a team. Coaching, supporting and mentoring those around me. Hands on experience in implementing large and complex packaged apps**. Experience implementing a range of design and architecture patterns for your domain.

Oracle ERP implementation experience, preferably large scale implementation with focus on ERP(Finance/SCM) configurations.
Experience in Oracle Fusion Financials, SCM configuration for at least 2 Full cycle project deliveries with hands-on experience.
Should have good understanding of seeded processes, years end process, Month end process and reports.
Has good knowledge in any 2 of the flows O2C, P2P, R2R, A2R
Must have experience in defining payments methods, terms and integrating them to banks via interfaces.
Must have experience in configuring standard workflow and designing custom workflow to organisation needs.
Must have the understanding of different payment methods and terms
Knowledge of ERP on Cloud(SaaS) and on premise.
Has working experience on different integration patterns, security methods.
Is able to Design, develop, test and deploy interfaces
Is able to design and implement NFR’s
Is able to work on customisations, personalisations, enhancements, test, and document.
Should be good at configuring approvals, alerts, data transfers, jobs for integrations and reports.
Knowledge of R12/Fusion technical areas like DFF, KFF, OTBI, BIP, ERP Extracts, Data Loader using FBDI and ADFI, PL/SQL, Forms, Reports, Workflow/ BPM
Is able to identify the right API, design customisation, develop and test the use in Fusion/R12 to process/create/update data in ERP.
Is able to document the CLD based on the HLD
Is able to understand the landscape of multiple system architecture
