About the role
The Systems Engineering II for database ops is an individual contributor role with expertise in Oracle database & E-Business Suite application who is responsible to maintain & support critical database systems 24x7. Experience in managing other RDBMS/NoSQL DBs along with Cloud/automation skills will be an added advantage.

As a Systems Engineer II for Database operations:
Oracle E-Business Suite DBA typically has a wide range of technical responsibilities revolving around managing and optimizing 11i, R12, Weblogic, SSO, FMW, Discoverer & Oracle database 11g, 19c. Here are some typical roles and responsibilities:
 Database Design and Architecture: Collaborate with architects, application developers, and stakeholders to design and implement scalable, high-performance database solutions that meet business requirements and align with organizational goals.
 Database Administration: Manage all aspects of the Oracle database along with E-Business Suite application, including fresh installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, backup, recovery, and maintenance.
 Database/application performance tuning: Monitoring database & application performance using tools like OEM, NewRelic, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing performance tuning measures such as index optimization, SQL tuning, optimizing Weblogic managed servers.
 Capacity Planning: Forecasting database growth and resource utilization to ensure that sufficient resources (storage, CPU, memory) are available to support current and future database workloads.
 Database Security: Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive data stored in databases, including user authentication, access control, and encryption.
 Backup and Recovery: Developing and maintaining backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime in the event of hardware failures, data corruption, or other disasters.
 High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Designing and implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Oracle EBS application & databases such as dataguard.
 Patch Management and Upgrades: Knowledge or participation in Applying patches, fixes, and upgrades to EBS application, Weblogic, SSO, FMW & database to address security vulnerabilities, bugs, and performance enhancements.
 Database Monitoring and Alerting: Setting up monitoring tools and alerts to proactively identify and resolve database/application issues preventing service disruptions.
 Compliance and Governance: Ensuring that EBS application & databases comply with relevant industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and internal governance policies regarding data privacy, security, and auditability.
 Vendor Management: Interacting with Oracle & other vendors to stay updated on product roadmaps, licensing agreements, and support services related to EBS application & database.
 Troubleshooting and Incident Response: Investigating and resolving database/application -related incidents and service outages in a timely manner, collaborating with other IT teams (e.g., EBS application support, network, system administration) as needed.
 Continuous Improvement: Staying current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices EBS application and database administration. Proactively identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation to streamline database management tasks.

You will need
Technology Skills:
Expertise in managing multiple oracle 11g,12c, & 19c databases on medium to large systems.
Expertise in Oracle Apps DBA – R12, FMW, SSO, workflow administration.
 Expertise in oracle apps system administration & AD utilities.
 Good knowledge in AWS cloud
 Very good knowledge of Linux/AIX/Windows and its related commands and shell scripting.
 Expertise in RMAN/OEM.
 Expertise in troubleshooting, pro-active monitoring, backup, restore/recovery, and performance tuning.
 High availability features – Oracle dataguard, RAC.
 Good analytical skills and team player.
 24X7 on-call support on rotational basis.
 Having knowledge of RDBMS & NoSQL along with automation/cloud skills will be an added advantage.
Leadership & Potential:
 Collaborate across multifunctional departments to drive forward the development and adoption of existing and new technologies to the Cloud Technology stack.
 Collaborate with a wider area or teams to drive overall enterprise design.
 Collaborate with Engineering team with clear expectations and project deliveries.
 During volatile and uncertain situations able to anticipates and overcomes obstacles with a pragmatic approach to achieve goals and commitments. While exhibiting high responsiveness by reacting quickly and positively to significant and major events
Qualifications:
 Graduation/Post Graduation.
 Minimum 8-10 years of technology experience in Level 3&4 support
