Tesco Ireland is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Brand Design Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, adaptation and implementation of brand strengthening packaging solutions.

- Deliver high quality packaging designs that reinforce brand cues, align with brand guidelines, drive on-shelf impact and cut through instore;
- Collaborate and liaise with Tesco Group stakeholders including Tesco UK team on group-wide packaging assets, adapting for use in the local market, and keep same stakeholders updated on any relevant ROI projects;
- Translate ROI specific category strategy and customer insights into compelling briefs for our agency design partners;
- Project manage the packaging lifecycle, from aligning with our NPD, Innovation, Range and Commercial Teams on upcoming product launches, to brief development, liaising with agency partners, and delivery;
- Liaise with internal compliance and Technical teams on technical packaging information requirements;
- Oversee the design and development by external suppliers/agencies/partners of packaging for own label products and NPD/innovation projects;
- Be key recipient of proposed concepts and designs, provide required rounds of feedback on same and see through to sign off stage;
- Observe and reinforce Tesco Ireland Brand Guidelines and ensure all projects are delivered in line with our ongoing Brand strategy, guidelines and activity;
- Oversee photography productions as required in the development of packaging assets;
- Observe meticulous version control, filing and archiving;
- Monitor and document competitor packaging design developments and innovations;
- Keep abreast of industry trends and packaging best practice examples for the purposes of inspiration and ideation;
- Overseeing print process, engaging on print specifications, production lead-times and deliverables
- Stay updated on sustainability/accessibility requirements and best in class examples in sustainable & accessible packaging.
- Prior experience in FMCG, brand marketing and or packaging design.
- Prior experience managing and briefing agency partners
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
- Enthusiastic, ambitious and self-motivated
- The ability to work with multiple cross-functional, internal/external stakeholders
Desireable but not essential
- Customer/Marketing/Graphic Design background
- Basic marketing/customer copywriting skills
