Location – Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Southampton or Reigate, Permanent blended working, with occasional travel to other offices
Shift: Monday to Friday 09:00 -17:00. 36 hours per week.

Opportunity:

We have an opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our Tesco Underwriting team, working with all levels of leadership.

The role:

Procurement plays a crucial role in our organisation, ensuring we have the right suppliers, contracts, and strategies to support our evolving business. You’ll manage the contractual processes including sourcing new third-parties and renewals of existing in compliance with the Procurement & Supplier Management policy and framework to ensure Tesco Underwriting receive appropriate service and value for money.

What you’ll be doing:

• Identifying contract requirements and writing specifications for existing contracts and/or new contracts.
• Client & Customer Management - helping senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
• Supplier Management & Supply Chain Management - maintaining day-to-day contact with business-critical suppliers and respond to complex incidents with suppliers or supplies/services to analyse performance and provide feedback on key supplier management indicators.
• Contract Management - managing the delivery of a major part of our contract management program while taking personal responsibility for a limited number of mission-critical contracts.
• Effectively building formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside of Tesco Underwriting.
• Keeping track of risk parameters, identifying any more deviations and reporting them to more senior colleagues.
• Developing stakeholder engagement through identifying stakeholders, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these to support the communication of business information and decisions.
• Delivering high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing best value for Tesco Underwriting.
• Consistently track and report on savings targets for specified sub-categories using the agreed process.
• Using sound judgement build new and develop existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and create greater value across Tesco Underwriting.
• Support the business to achieve compliance with legal, ethical, and social procurement policies with integrity and good judgement.

We need you to have:

• Proven experience of leading RFP process for Tier 1 suppliers.
• Line management responsibility for two Procurement specialists.
• Demonstrates experience in Categories: Professional services and Claims supply chain.
• Robust experience in procurement for Underwriting and Claims services.
• Motor / home / personal lines experience is advantageous.
• CIPS qualified or working towards this.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment, ensuring procurement activities align with our strategic objectives.
• Experience working inside a large corporate entity with global reach.

• Building partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

• Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
• Knowledge of Supplier relationship and performance management.
• Securing and deploying resources effectively and efficiently.
• Applying the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
