You will be responsible for
Ensure right levels of processes; practices; and standards to build and operate products; aligned to the wider enterprise technology standards · Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and a commitment to driving Agile practices within the team. · Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges. · A passion for staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies. · Previous hands-on software development experience is a plus Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team; ensuring the adoption of best practices; design principles; and coding standards. · Experience in delivering Java based software solutions while utilizing application frameworks like Spring Boot; · Inspire the engineering team to deliver clean; efficient code based on industry standards and modern software design principles like SOLID. · Strong knowledge of software and architectural design patterns. · Create good quality technical documentation including high level and component level design documents · Comfortable with DevOps practices involving configuration management; CI/CD pipelines; IaaC; deployment patterns among others · Guide the team in delivering efficient and cost-effective solutions using cloud platforms like Azure. · Strong knowledge on containerization and orchestration tools like docker and Kubernetes · Utilize security standard tools like SonarQube; Snyk; and Kenna to ensure the adherence to security best practices throughout the development lifecycle · Oversee application performance management (APM) and asset monitoring using tools such as Splunk and New Relic; identifying optimization opportunities and ensuring seamless system operation. People Skills: · Lead and manage a diverse team of software engineers; fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages creativity and growth. · Conduct regular performance assessments; provide constructive feedback; and guide career development plans for team members. · Cultivate a culture of learning and knowledge sharing; organizing workshops; training sessions; and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives. Project Management: · Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle; from requirement analysis and design to implementation; testing; and deployment. · Collaborate with Product Managers to define project scopes; objectives; and timelines; ensuring alignment with business goals. · Monitor project progress; identify potential risks; and proactively address issues to keep projects on track. Stakeholder Engagement: · Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams; translating technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders. · Collaborate with Product Owners; Technical Programme Managers; Quality engineering teams; and UX/UI designers to ensure seamless integration of features and functionalities. · Act as a point of contact for client communication; addressing inquiries; gathering feedback; and managing expectations. Continuous Improvement: · Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the development process; optimizing efficiency; quality; and team performance. · Stay current with industry trends; emerging technologies; and best practices; integrating relevant advancements into the team's workflow. · Encourage innovation by fostering a culture of experimentation and exploring new tools; methodologies; and approaches.
