As a Location Planning Manager at Tesco, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of our estate and ensuring we're opening the right stores, in the right places, for the communities we serve.

You'll be responsible for leading location strategy, sales forecasting and investment recommendations across your geographical area, helping Tesco make informed decisions on new store openings, relocations, closures and property investments. Using customer insight, spatial data and market intelligence, you'll influence major property decisions and support Tesco's continued growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, lead a team of forecasting specialists, and partner with senior stakeholders across Property, Acquisitions, Finance, Marketing and Data Analytics. Your work will directly influence where Tesco invests and help improve access to Tesco stores for customers and communities across the UK.

  • Leading the development of location strategies for new store openings, relocations, closures and extensions across your region.
  • Owning catchment analysis, sales forecasting, impact modelling and investment recommendations to support robust property decisions.
  • Supporting the Property approval process by delivering high-quality forecasts and recommendations within agreed timescales.
  • Reviewing the performance of new stores and property investments, identifying learnings and incorporating them into future strategy.
  • Driving strategic business projects that require locational and spatial insight, including potential acquisitions and growth opportunities.
  • Using customer, demographic, competitor and market data to provide clear recommendations that support business objectives.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, tools, systems and ways of working across the team.
  • Presenting insights and recommendations confidently to senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Building strong relationships with Property, Acquisitions, Finance, Marketing, Data Analytics and wider business teams.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor on location-related matters and influencing strategic investment decisions.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of market trends, competitor activity and emerging retail propositions to ensure Tesco remains competitive.
  • Communicating and building effective relationships with stakeholders across the business.
  • Working closely with colleagues, sharing best practice and supporting a collaborative team culture.
  • Using analytical thinking and innovation to identify opportunities and deliver continuous improvement.
  • Owning projects and recommendations from initial analysis through to implementation.
  • Supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.

Čo budete potrebovať
  • Significant experience in Location Planning, Spatial Analysis, Property Analytics or a similar data-led strategic role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear commercial recommendations.
  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of locational, demographic and customer data.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and confidence to challenge and guide strategic decisions.
  • A collaborative approach and ability to build relationships across multiple business functions.
  • A passion for using data to solve problems and shape long-term business strategy.
  • Retail location planning experience.
  • Experience using GIS tools such as ArcGIS.
  • Experience using Alteryx for spatial analysis.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience working within Property, Retail, Acquisitions or strategic business planning functions.
