As a Refrigeration Maintenance Technician at Tesco, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping our environments comfortable, safe, and fully operational for both customers and colleagues. 

You’ll be part of a skilled maintenance team, responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a wide range of refrigeration systems and equipment. From diagnosing faults to carrying out repairs and optimising system performance, your work will help ensure a seamless shopping experience for thousands of customers every day.

This is a hands-on, mobile role that requires strong technical knowledge, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to high standards of service and safety.   • Annual bonus scheme of up to 10% of base salary.

As a Service Maintenance Technician in Refrigeration, your specific responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks. To thrive in this role, you will need to:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on refrigeration assets across Tesco stores.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across refrigeration systems, electrical components and control systems to maximise first-time fix rates.
  • Respond to refrigeration breakdowns and emergency call-outs within agreed service level expectations.
  • Conduct leak detection and refrigerant repair activities in line with F-Gas regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintain refrigeration equipment to maximise asset performance, reliability and operational lifespan.
  • Complete statutory inspections, compliance checks and maintenance records accurately and on time.
  • Support food safety by ensuring refrigeration systems maintain required temperatures and escalating issues that may impact trading operations.
  • Work safely at all times, completing dynamic risk assessments and following safe systems of work and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Build effective relationships with Store Managers and colleagues, providing clear updates on equipment status and repair times.
  • Manage van stock, company equipment and maintenance records while supporting multiple stores across a designated region.

Budete potřebovat
  • Proven experience servicing and maintaining commercial refrigeration systems.
  • F-Gas Category 1 Certification (City & Guilds 2079 or equivalent).
  • Strong fault-finding skills across refrigeration, electrical and control systems.
  • Good understanding of food retail or commercial refrigeration environments.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritise workload.
  • Experience using handheld devices, mobile maintenance systems or digital job management tools.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent (desirable).
  • CO₂ refrigeration experience (desirable).
  • Electrical competence, IPAF and PASMA qualifications (desirable).
  • Experience working within a supermarket, retail or fast-paced multi-site environment (desirable).
