The landscape is complex, spanning multiple workstreams, dependencies on business data ownership, and evolving governance and platform capabilities. This role plays a key leadership position in ensuring delivery is coherent, governed, and aligned to business outcomes, so that Tesco can rely on People Data as a trusted foundation for regulatory compliance and strategic decision-making.

The Role: Lead Technical Programme Manager – People Data.

This role is accountable for the end-to-end delivery, governance and integrity of the People Data portfolio, ensuring programmes are aligned to business priorities, regulatory requirements, and enterprise data standards.

You will operate across a complex, multi-programe landscape (PDRP, Workforce dashboards, Compliance, Data Quality, and platform capabilities), bringing clarity, structure and pace to ambiguous and interdependent delivery challenges.

A key focus is driving clear data ownership, governance and accountability across business and technology, ensuring that data products are trusted, scalable, and audit-ready.

In this role I:

·       Deliver complex programmes with multiple business and technical risks that will impact the success of key Tesco business priorities

·       Line manage a team to help deliver the associated outcome & develop talent within the TPM community

·       Establish new or improve existing delivery methodology to deliver the programme goals

·       Initiate and shape programmes with ambiguous scope and uncertain delivery approach

·       Create and track a plan to deliver the programme goals, including the technical implementation plan

·       Provide expert advice and guidance on programme delivery (mentoring other TPMs and supporting Engineering/Product teams)

·       Understand trade-offs in software delivery, using experience and influencing skills to drive consensus with the Engineering and Product teams to obtain the best value and solution

·       Am able to foresee potential risks and issues, establish a process, facilitate discussion and manage escalations

An ideal candidate will have:

·       A proven record of accomplishment in delivering complex, cross-functional data or platform technology programmes having done so across multiple teams and multiple geographies

·       Strong experience in compliance, regulatory, reporting or data and analytics type programmes

·       Experience of building credible relationships and influencing senior management & leadership teams

·       Experience in & a passion for People Management

·       Strong Project, Stakeholder & Programme management skills

·       Excellent communication & influencing skills, particularly in translating technical complexity into business outcomes.
